Job Title: Receptionist/Financial Aid Assistant (Temporary)

Job Description: The Cooper Union seeks an individual to handle the daily activities of the Office of Student Services, screen calls, greet visitors, sort mail, schedule appointments.  Provide clerical support to the financial aid officers.  Organize and collate financial aid forms, advise students regarding forms, process check requests and perform data entry operations.  Perform other tasks as needed.
This position  is a temporary position for approximately 12 weeks, starting July 6, 2010
Qualifications: Must be both detail and service oriented.  Figure aptitude is crucial, should enjoy working with college students.  Applicants must possess excellent word processing skills and proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.  Fluency in Spanish or Asian language desirable.

Job Title: Development Associate
Salary Range: Competitive
Job Responsibilities:
● Support the Director and Assistant Director in the preparation and submission of funding
proposals to  private foundations, corporate giving programs, and government   agencies
● Gather and assemble the required supplemental documents needed
for reports and renewal requests
● Work closely with College Business office in preparing grant expense reports and budgets
● Prospect for institutional donors to support campaign and school priorities, as well as faculty programs
and projects.  Prepare written briefs for discussion at weekly staff meetings
● Prepare stewardship reports to institutional donors of endowed student scholarships and financial aid grants
● Track department awards, grant payments, pending proposals, and stewardship deadlines.
Input data to the Department’s Repo site and maintain institutional donor files
Qualifications:
The candidate must have, at minimum, a bachelor’s degree and at least 3 years professional experience . Other requisites
include: excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to work as part of a team; attention to detail; organization skills;
and proficiency with Word, Excel and the Internet.
