Changes to the Constitution and By-Laws

All 14 propositions PASSED:

  1. Recognize additional departments as “areas” for representation
  2. Change local dues to sliding scale
  3. Require absentee ballots for elections
  4. Define certain specific election procedures
  5. Limits on the President (when executing local union policies)
  6. Limits on the President (when representing local to external groups)
  7. Vice President coordinates Area Reps.
  8. Treasurer must deliver financial report at each general meeting
  9. Candidates cannot serve on elections committee
  10. Area Rep. elections must follow same rules as Exec. Board elections
  11. Only members of involved area can vote to recall Area Rep.
  12. If officer is recalled by 2/3 majority vote, special election will be held
  13. Define procedure to authorize a strike
  14. Exec. Board officers can be reimbursed for missed work due to Union
